Launched: The Third Act
April 28, 2023
Today I launch this new website, and in doing so, I’m officially launching my third act as a fine art photographer/digital artist.
I’ve been taking photos since I could climb up on my roof and take pictures of the clouds with my Instamatic camera. My photography had to take the back seat to my careers as a lighting designer, high school teacher, and school psychologist from 1985 to 2022. During all those years I packed in a lot of life, getting educated, raising my daughter, working two and three jobs at at time, having adventures, meeting my two adorable granddaughters, and always, taking photos on the side.
Then in October of 2022, George Maxwell, curator of the Loge Gallery in Salt Lake City, invited me to exhibit my photographs I’d been posting on Instagram since 2014. I convinced my dear friend, Judith Zimmerman to share the show with me and exhibit her amazing pastel art. We had such fun. So with that bit of encouragement, I took the next step and applied to art fairs/festivals for 2023 and low and behold, I’ve been invited to several in the Minnesota/Wisconsin area for the summer of 2023.
And thus begins the third act, my last act. I’ll spend the rest of the days I’m granted, exploring the world, taking photographs and exploring different ways to use all the fun digital tools (even AI? not yet!) to make more pictures. Visit me on social media or stop by my booth at an art fair and I’ll share my latest work.
